Ag Teachers

Due to the closing of School Activities Statewide our Area IX FFA Convention has been postponed.

We have to have a vote from the Area IX voting delegates within 60 days prior to the State FFA Convention. That would be by Wednesday May 6th. Our Area IX Coordinator, Justin Risner has spoken with the State Office and we can take an Area vote in this manner and be in compliance with the State Constitution.

This is the procedure set forth by our Area Coordinator for your Chapters Vote.

Chapter Advisors of each Chapter along with their voting delegates should meet to vote together as a Chapter.  Each voting delegate will vote independently on the survey link.

Ex. If your chapter has 3 voting delegates, The Advisor will click on the survey link three separate times. It has only 4 questions. Very short. YES or NO

Just as done at any meeting, the voting delegates record their names by signing in at the registration table. Ballots have always included their names on the back for verification.

This is nothing new.

The following questions are to be answered by each voting delegate as they EACH complete this survey. Please complete all questions.

1. Please for verification purposes enter your Chapter FFA number. (i.e. TX______)

2. Please list your chapter name

3. Please enter your complete name (first and last) in the following blank.

4. Please select from the following choices your YES vote to make the change or NO vote to leave the constitution as currently reads.

Proposal

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PROPOSAL TO VOTE:

We therefore offer the following resolution to be officially offered to the voting delegates at the next official business session of a properly convened Texas State FFA Convention as an amendment to the State FFA Constitution, ARTICLE XV. STATE FFA BOARD OF DIRECTORS, Section A.

Governing Body,

#1 by;

Striking out the words:

{A current agricultural science teacher elected at-large}

And inserting the words:

[10 current agricultural science teachers elected one from each Area Association elected by the Area Association Agriculture Teachers every 3rd year at their VATAT Conference Area Association meeting.]

Voting will end at 4pm on Tuesday May 5th

The computer program will compare the number on the excel file to the number of voting delegates per chapter number. The Area will verify this on Tuesday afternoon when it is tabulated.
