Recommended State Officer Election Process Schedule
7:30 AM – 8:00 AM
● Check-In and Orientation
○ Candidates check-in and receive their schedules.
○ Judges attend a brief orientation and Q&A session.
8:00 AM – 9:30 AM
● Knowledge Test
○ All candidates complete a comprehensive written test.
○ Judges finalize materials for later rounds or participate in preparation.
9:30 AM – 10:10 AM
● Writing Prompt
○ Candidates complete a timed writing exercise.
10:10 AM – 10:30 AM
● Break and Transition
○ Staff organizes materials from the test and writing prompt.
○ Judges prepare for the next rounds.
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
● Interviews
○ Candidates meet individually with Adult and B&I judges.
○ Each interview lasts approximately 15–20 minutes.
○ Judges rotate in panels or individually, depending on the setup.
○ Candidates wait in a designated area when not being interviewed.
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
● Lunch Break
○ Separate spaces for candidates and judges for privacy and preparation.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
● Round Robin
○ Candidates rotate through one-on-one or small-group interactions with Student Officers.
○ Each session lasts about 7–8 minutes, with brief transition times.
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
● Member Engagement Round
○ Candidates engage in a simulated group setting or committee discussion.
○ Judges evaluate communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
3:30 PM – 4:00 PM
● Judge Deliberation Preparation
○ Judges review notes and prepare scores for final deliberation.
